FDM is a global training company providing technical courses to students across the world. Subsequent to the Covid19 pandemic, FDM moved to a distributed training model and needed a solution that supported students worlding remotely from their own devices.
We worked with them to:
- Design a suitable Azure Landing Zone for an enterprise global Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environment
- Designed and deployed an AVD infrastructure spanning north America, Europe central and eastern Asia
- Developed and implemented 8 separate Windows images with different software profiles to provide appropriate tools for different course types
- Development of a custom automated course provisioning and deprovisioning service which integrates with Salesforce, MySQL, Azure SQL Databases and the Azure Fabric to provision course resources for trainees
- Provided ongoing support to FDM around the monitoring, management and image update process associated with the new AVD environment
