At the start of 2026, our consultancy team worked with a managed services client to replace their traditional VPN solution with Microsoft Entra Global Secure Access (GSA), a Microsoft technology designed to provide secure access to applications and resources without the complexity of legacy VPNs. This aligns with ElysianIT’s documented approach of using Entra GSA to replace VPN-based access and support a more modern security model.
Before the migration, the client’s VPN had become a recurring source of frustration for users and the support desk. Throughout 2025, our support team handled 125 tickets relating to VPN issues.
Following the migration earlier this year VPN-related tickets fell by 100%.
Not reduced. Not improved. Eliminated.
The project wasn’t just about replacing one technology with another. It was about improving the employee experience, reducing support overhead, strengthening security, and giving users seamless access to the resources they need without the traditional VPN headaches.
For our customer, that meant:
- Improved user experience
- Fewer interruptions to productivity
- Reduced burden on the IT support team
- A more modern, Zero Trust-aligned approach to secure access
